What’s a Poker Run?
It’s like a car rally, except that at each stop (checkpoint) drivers will collect a single playing card from a very special deck of cards presented by the host. There will be 5 stops and at the end, the winning hand will receive an awesome trophy.
Once you collect your first card and start the route everything else is up to the driver to negotiate. If drivers want to spend more time at one location – go for it! Just know that you might need to spend less time at another, or you might need to find a shortcut through town to get you back on track (no pun intended).
Why is time so important?
Because all participants must present their poker hand before the designated location before the designated time.
Drivers will have full route details in advance. While we think it’s more fun to keep the locations a secret (for now) if it’s important to you don’t hesitate to ask.
What we can tell you right now is that the first Poker Card will be collected at the Lime Rock Park Track Office at 11:00 a.m. and the last will be collected in Lakeville. Drivers should expect 94 Miles of driving (2 ½ to 3 hours) with 2 ½ to 3 hours to make five stops.
What does this cost?
The entry fee for each driver is $200; the fee for a passenger is $100. Participation will be limited to 15 cars (maximum of 30 people). Your Entry Fee Includes a Continental breakfast and a go-bag, lunch and reception at the final stop, and one very cool trophy for the winning hand.
How do I sign up?
